New Guy here
I just sold my 1997 Wrangler to buy a 2000 XJ Sport Freedom Edition. Im thinking of putting the Edge Trail Jammer (TB Intake Module) kit on it. Anyone using one? Anyone think its worth the $$$?

I know its pricey but from what I read it is a real good package but i dont always believe what I read I'd rather hear it from someone that has one installed.

^ What he said.
I imagine it would be worth it. I've heard good things about every mod it includes, each of which benefit greatly from the other. I'm a little leary of the peformance chips myself, but I'd say a more modern rig like a 2000 should be better suited for them. As far as open air elements, I have yet to purchase one (will be soon), but know a lot of guys who run them on their rigs, and have had no problems. Obviously, don't go submerging it in water, but as far as mud and dust, they hold up fine. Just clean it up when you get home.

I have a 2000 Sport as well. Personally, I think the 4.0 has plenty of power without throwing any money at it. I would concenrate on beefing up the suspension and drivetrain more than what's under the hood. But that's just me. To each his own, I guess.....

It does hold it's own but once you start going large in tire size/ lift, you start losing power and it becomes quite noticeable. Regearing helps that but it still could use some more "assistance".

Yah, I can totally see your point there. I was assuming that he's running a stock XJ. I'm running 31s and I wouldn't go much bigger without re-gearing or trying to get more power out of the engine.

Im running stock-for now-but I do plan on a mild lift and a larger set of tires. With the 3.55 gears I should be OK with a 30-31 inch tire without having to regear. From what Ive read people are actually getting better mileage with this kit installed. Maybe more Hp = better MPG.

probably will get good mpg with that kit but to much money for me..you should be fine on 3.55's with 30-31 inch tires..I run 30's and it feels the same as the 235's that were on it..
