New head on but won't start
Ok here's the thing...
I bought a 2001 Xj a few weeks ago and started to notice I kept loosing coolant so after talking to a few jeep buddies they all mentioned a cracked head. I bought a new head and started to disassemble the motor and then reassembled the next day. Now I have everything reassembled and plugged up, I go to start it and it doesn't catch. I then proceed to check all my wires and check the bleeder valve on fuel rail, nothing comes out. I get my fuel line disconnects and check two areas on the line, by the rear axle and by the front diff ( both areas had fuel come out). However everyone is telling me to check my crank shaft position sensor???? Where is it and any ideas why it won't catch.

It could be a variety of things on the fuel or ignition system, but no fuel at the rail is a big clue. It sounds like either the pump or filter. You have to drop the tank to swap the pump. Lots of threads mention the poor mans prime. Turn the key on but don't start it, wait 10sec for the fuel pump to run then shut off, then start it. If it starts it's likely the pump, if not it could be the fuel filter.

You do know the pump only comes on a couple of seconds after you turn the ign on. (also while it's cranking or running). Our earlier loops the fuel through the rail then back to the tank and never needs to be primed. With your regulator in the tank, and one line, I'm not sure what would happen if that had air in it.
For lack of a better idea I might hold the goodie on the Schrader valve in, while someone turns the key on and off every 5 secs or so. Just maybe it just has air in the line. Of course that doesn't explain a goose egg for pressure though.....You are sure you aren't out of gas!

I figured it out
When I removed the intake to change the head I didn't remove the fuel line going to rail. So when I moved the intake away from the block I apparently twisted this little plastic area on the top of fuel line and it wasn't allowing fuel to get to fuel rail
