New here!! Have several ??????
Hey guys just bought a stock 1990 xj and lookin to start buildin it but heve several questions.
1. I see a lot of people are swappin in the ford 8.8 in the rear but what is a good axle for the front??
2.I was wanting to run 35's so what would be a good lift to buy? I would like to get a long arm lift also.
3. What years xj parts will inter change with my 1990, IE: motor , tranny, etc.
Sorry for all the questions but i am new to jeeps and cant wait to start buildin it. Thanks guys

1- 8.8 Fords are fine but do require some modifications to install. The front D30 is fine but will need some upgrades for strength. Alloy axles and a truss for the housing. Stronger u-joints and a selectable locker.
2- There are several that are located in a sticky but the best two in my opinion are either RE ot TnT Check those two and then decide which fits your needs better.
3- You have a Renix era Jeep so the only direct swaps are 87-90 years. After 90 they changed several things and then changed again for 93-96 and some things changed again in 96-99. After 99 they are distributorless so they are completely different from every thing prior to that big change.

That can really vary. The local J/Y had one recently for $125 and when I was in Georgia they had one there too but for $350 so it depends on where you are and how many they have. You just have to call around to your local J/Ys and see.
