Default New Jeep, a few issues including a vacuum leak/hvac/cruise

Hello,
the other day I picked up my first Jeep, a 99 Cherokee Sport 4.0L, 97k miles. I love it but it has a few issues.

I found the vacuum leak at the "t" behind the battery on the passenger side. There are only 2 hoses attached and the open end does "suck" with the engine runnning. Now after reading everything about the vacuum leaks, I haven't read anything about actually fixing the issue. Can I just cap it? I have looked everywhere but haven't seen where the opening of the t would run to.

See attached pic

Thanks!

Check the vacuum reservoir and it's hose on the passenger side inside the front bumper. It's a oblong black canister.

Turns out I couldnt find the hose because I don't even have the reservoir. The Jeep had some minor front end damage and needed a new bumper, and I assume they just did not put the reservoir back in.
Could that be what this plug goes to?

Good chance the vacuum line goes to the reservoir.

That's an electric connector. Probably for an overhead console temp gauge probe.

If you open this link there are photos of the engine bay vacuum system, including the '99 vacuum reservoir. There are a few photos of older XJ's there for your amusement. ;-}

Thanks for all of those pics!
I definitely do not have a reservoir. Stopped at the local Advanced and Autozone and neither of them carry one. Could it go by a different name other than vacuum reservoir?

Yes, a different name...junk yard. The auto parts store pukes don't have them.

If for some odd reason you can't locate one locally. Type in "vacuum reservoir".

Picked up a vacuum ball at the pull-a-part today. $7 and fixed the leak.
Thanks guys, didn't even know I was missing it.

Havn't had the chance to check the cruise control though. Should this have fixed it? The cruise light on the dash doesn't even light up, so maybe a blown fuse?
