Default new to the jeep world.

Just want some opinions from you experts.

thinking about going to buy a 99 classic over the next two days. Seems like alot of you don't have a classic.

Any reason why or can you share your thoughts on it.

it has 174,000. miles
according to seller a 4 inch lift
with 33x12.5x16 interior is in good shape she does look rougher in person

here is her pic and yes i'm excited to join the ranks
my 02xterra died on me friday (sad day)

I also have a 96 grand that I like, but I love the body on the xj.

Tanks for all your help.

I've got a classic and I love it. They're just kinda rare. Mist people like sports because they look more rugged

timing belt went at 187,000. xterras have an interruption engine. this means that if the timing belt goes the bottom 1/2 of the engine will keep going while the top 1/2 will stop moving. The pistons will hit the valves and dent or bend everything to crap.

Option one- replace the top end or get a complete valve job with what ever else went wrong. (not cheap)

Option two- replace engine I was quoted $3,300. for the job from a good mechanic with a used engine having 47,000. miles.

don't want to deal with a timing belt ever again.

As far as lift goes i suggest checking to make sure the track bar is long enough. Also make sure the rear was lifted with springs or shackles. Lift blocks arent worth spit unless u just want it for looks. Also the front should have no more than a three inch spacer if thats how it was lifted IMHO. Also brake lines should be looked at to make sure they are long enough. Oh and control arms should aftermarket with that much lift. These are all things that need to be taken into consideration if you plan on going offroad
