New Lift and Wheels!
I'm anticipating a crappy winter this year. First a hurricane, then a nor'easter, and that was October. I finally got around to modding the Jeep. Car has been a champ, dropped a couple grand into it over the past couple years fixing things that were just on their way out, but it's just a cherry and figured it was time for a change.
I took it to Auto Couture Motoring in NJ today to finally have some new boots and went from a 2" to 3" lift kit. Here is the results...
Now after the lift i'm in a HUGE debate on dropping more coin and getting 4.10 gears. The wheels def bogged down the truck and I miss the pep and few extra mpg. I must be down to 10mpg now.
Any thoughts on gearing, where to get them/brand and how much to expect for install? I already spent enough on the
Before...
After
I went with 152 Rock Crawler Series - Gloss Black Street Lock Wheels and 31" GY Duratracs
Guys at ACM did a great job, Jay was working on the lift for about 5 hours, great guys and great customer service. :hattip:
Can't wait for some snow!!!

Looks good, I wanted to go the same route but got the wrong sized tires...OOPS
Needless to say i had to do some fender trimming on the front (and rear soon too) to get the jeep to be mobile.... on top of that I cut too much off the front fenders so i cant really get the flattie fender flares that i had wanted

4.10's may be too much gear for 31's. You will probably find that 3.73's will work for you unless you plan on larger tires in the future then 4.10's are going to be the best choice. I recomend 3.73 for 31's, 4.10 for 33's and 4.45 for 35's

X2. If it see's a lot of highway time then 4.10s would be pretty low gearing for 31" tires. If you want it geared low for running trails, then 4.10's would be alright.

Honestly on 31s, it's not really worth the cost of the regear in my opinion. You won't see THAT much of a difference. It will be minimal.
But if you're dead set on a regear, for 31s you want:
3.73s if you have a manual tranny
4.10s if you have an auto tranny

Thanks
Car sees mostly local driving and some highway. I don't do trails..... yet. But i'd love to someday. On the highway i hear it struggling and i have to really give it gas and downshift to keep the speed up. Jeep used to love to roll/coast... no longer the case. I'm not dead set on gears, but it's under consideration since I miss the extra power it had before I put the 31s on.
I love the new look, but def came with some prices to pay.
Wife was curious and drove it for the first time yesterday. So funny seeing a little 5ft latin girl climbing in and out of a Jeep with hugewheels lol.
4.45s? Umm yeah... No. Increments are 3.07, 3.55, 3.73, 4.10, 4.56, 4.88...

Thanks! The guys at the shop recommended BDS
hahaha i just got this lift! Give it time
Btw a few guys recommended getting Extended Shackles for the rear. They said the back is sitting too low. My installer said it's fine the way it is.
This was my inspiration for the lift and wheels... as you can see the back is raised higher than mine, it's close to this... however I think this truck may have a 4.5 inch lift and smaller tires... what do you think? Note: when my photos were taken all 4 of the old tires/wheels were in the trunk.
