New to me xj please help with wiring
New to me xj please help with wiring
99xj starts in all gears (reverse lights work) found this while looking
they took and spliced the brown wire going to the starter and added a black wire the black wire is going from under the dash that black wire is then hooked on to a yellow wire thats going into the Column ( black wire was removed for pic)
with the black wire detached the car will not start so I replaced the nss switch and same thing no start with wire removed
I also found this wire in the kick panel on drivers side
Any help would be great

Nice!!! These old wiring harnesses can pull that sort of thing at any time - you always have to double check that the terminals are not pushed out (like yours) or corroded before loading the parts cannon.
BTW - my Jeep starts in any gear... so long as you have the clutch pedal pushed down, of course.
