Default new pinion nut?

I am installing new bearings in a chrysler 8.25 for the XJ.
I am using a "US Standard bearing kit" with Koyo bearings.

I went to install the new pinion nut and it is slightly larger than the original 1-1/4" socket.
Also, it is not "staked",, the new nut threads on and off with 2 fingers.

Should I be getting the proper staked nut for this?? (I either have to get another nut or a 33mm (?) socket,, as the 1-1/4 socket wont fit.

I would get another nut. Perhaps that one was a mistake in packaging.

I would not use a loose nut, but order a new one, or loctite blue the old one if I had to
