Yeah.. not looking so much for actual tyre brand/model as much...but if some have had great experience with a certain one, I'd definitetly take it into consideration.
I'm mainly trying to gauge here for size. I want a good balance of largest size but still have the articulation on my mild 2.5" lift. And not worry about rubbing everywhere.

I was leaning towards a 30" to start with, since I had heard a number of people say they rub the LCA's on 31's unless you modify...and I'm not.... they are going on the stock steelies, no additional back spacing. I just like the vintage look of them. So that part is preference. I was just looking for either confirmation that I was thinking correctly or if there was something I was missing and a different size would be better for my application.
I appreciate all of the responses

Are those really 30x 9.5's?..... I like them... just looks wider than 9.5 to me for some reason... either way, I like how everything is proportioned. Not too big... not too small.

Yup
EDIT: Let me see if I can find some pics that show how the width looks better. I should also mention that I extended the front bump stops by 1" to keep the rubbing to a minimum when fully stuffed. It still rubs, but it's better. Since I didn't think about doing the bump stops until after I'd put in the new lift springs (oops), I just glued a hockey puck to the flat area on top of the axle where the bump stop would make contact. Works great!

Kinda sucked that the 235s that are on there now aren't being replaced because they are worn out... I only average about 3500 miles a year on the XJ...so they're being replaced because of age... and starting to crack more than I'm comfortable driving even on-road with.

I generally think you're a big weenie about stuff, but your aging tires can be an issue.

Intentional insult or not... we have to remember that text on a page can be taken different ways by different people.

No worries cruiser.... I like to joke/kid around too. I just wanted to make sure that was the way you meant it. Because like I said....sometimes when you just see words on a page it's not always clear how the person that wrote them intended them to come across.
