New Spark Plugs!
So today i decided to get off my lazy but and do some work to my stocker. So I was experiencing some trouble with some starts and some spuddering so the first thing that came to mind was spark plugs. Mind you I'm not very mechanical and this is my first time doing spark plugs but I have seen it done many times. So I went and bought some spark plugs and wires.
Being the first time I didn't allow enough time for it to cool down. OUCH! Once I got all of them out i was so mad to find out that the PO didn't take care of this XJ like he said he did!
So after some hard work to get the old wires out and getting them into their new home I finally finished.

Funny! You one-upped me. I let mine go over 50, years ago, but that"s off the hook! Hopefully your #6 was just missing. Somewhere someone posted a figure of how many miles it took to go .001 bigger.

You really should replace the cap and rotor too, I bet they are in pretty bad shape from all of the extra KV that was required to fire those worn out plugs.

Yea I just got a quote on that since I get a nice discount on parts at O'Reilly Auto and I can pick the pair up for 23 bucks so that's the next thing I'm going to do.

Shows once more that a 4.0 can cop quite some neglect before it will start to give signs. Indeed, complete the tune-up with cap and rotor and call that area done.
With the OP being a lying b@#$tard , you might wanna do bit more maintenance checks
