Default new spectra rad leaking

Well I ordered a new rad from partsavatar which is the rockauto of Can. Well the drain plug leaks alittle and is tight. I don,t want to go thru all the hassle of returning it and waiting to see if they are going to send me a new one. I can tilt the rad up in the jeep enough to loosen the drain plug will little fluid loss. Just wondering if you guys and gals have some suggestions on a quick fix . I was thinking JB weld but I don,t think I can get it dry enough to use it. The drain plug is plastic and is a 3/4 turn style, not threaded. I hoping it will fill up with some krud and stop. I,m in central B.C. Can. and is winter

I bought a Spectra and the aluminum core was detached from the plastic side. So much for 100% inspection before they leave the factory.
Return it and buy a good radiator.

Is there an o-ring on the drain valve? Does the drain valve match the one on your old radiator?

no ,the old one is threaded. The o-ring is my next step when it quits snowing when I have a day off but was asking this question incase the o-ring is still in there and then I can try some other fix

I used one in my 96 from autozone, had good ratings and warranty. Purchased it online and got free delivery and some type of discount.
Good Luck!

Lasting seven years is good luck??
Mine was the original from 1995.
My Ford Ranger still has it's radiator from 2007.

Well is seems to have stopped or maybe a drop or 2. Hope it gets me to end of Feb. Maybe the o-ring needed some time to expand or filled it up with crud from the block.
