Question new wiper arms

Here in Idaho we can get wet, snowy, and frozen the same day. My current Cherokee has the orig wiper arms that you lift partially off but snap back onto the w/s. I like arms that you pull up at night and put them down in the am. Jeep dealers have no clue. I thought i heard a Compass arm works. Any advice out there on a better more modern arm.

What year are you talking about? I thought they all stayed up?

Where are you in Idaho? I'm up in Spirit Lake, myself.

My 96 XJ wiper arms don't stay up, unless you pull them up then pull the release clip and let them down they will hold about 2 inches off the windshield.
In the process of changing the heater core and looking for leaks into the cabin, I have had them off and on more times then I can count.

If someone knows of a wiper arm we could install, I would be interested as well.

Look at the base of the wiper arm. You'll see the small tab. Lift the arm up and then pull the tab outward. That will keep the wiper off the window.

TJ arms sit a little higher on the windshield, but they stay up...

A word of caution. That tab you are pushing outward unlocks the wiper arm. If you drive off and have to use the wiper arm, it may come flying off if you don't remember to lock the tab back in place. Just realize that tab is the only thing locking the wiper arm in place.

True, that allows you to remove the arm from the shaft. However, if you don't push the tab back in (lock the arm), the wipers won't touch the glass. I hope that would be pretty obvious to someone before they drove off like that.
