New XJ Brakes?!?
Been lurkin the forum a while, decided its about time I posted. Found an '89 XJ on craigslist. $700, has 177,XXX miles, and all seems good. OP says the only issue is the brakes are going out, and he thinks its the brake booster. I emailed him, but lookin for a opinion from you xj experts before i get too serious, since im still a newbie and dont know much about the jeeps brake system.

if the brakes are the only issue and it has the 4.0 I6 engine sounds good . Cherokee brakes are fairly cheap to work on. If the hard brake lines are badly rusted then you're talking more time (and money if a shop is needed to replace them).
The 89 xj has the Renix 4.0 engine, the jeep you're looking at has the 4.0 inline 6? I don't think the renix engine has a bad record, if you search the forum you will learn more about the renix engine.
