http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/8...ite-up-530202/ or if you got money to burn http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-476...-assembly.html The problem with the dana 35 is the housing is made really weak and can flex,The flex will break stuff inside the housing killing the axle.If your trying to stay with stock gears run 31s anything bigger you will lose power and interstate driving will be a dog.

When guys go big tires and wheel hard, they tend to break axle shafts. Don't go above 33s and don't wheel too hard and you'll be OK. Its like everything. Some guys will say its OK and some will bash it. I feel most people that bash it only do it because they have seen or heard someone with one that failed. I have wheeled with a lot of people and had a few jeeps with the Dana 35 and besides occasionally on a forum, have yet to see someone break one. As for gears, I dd mine and wheel it with my 3:55 but I do recommend upgrading if its going to be your daily driver. 8.8, there have been plenty of threads on the 8.8. I don't know exactly what it entails so I will leave that subject alone
Incorrect on both points sorry you need to do a fact check. As for the 3.55's "Screaming at 70mph" your going the wrong way it will have way less rpm with that tire and gear not more.
As Andrew pointed out again you don't need an 8.8 it gives less ground clearance and had to be fabbed up to work in an XJ an 8.28 is fine for you. 3.55's and 31" tires are a strain I ran them for a while as stated 4.10 for it and there are many more tires in a 33 than a 32 with prices many times lower will give you a greater choice of tires with a proper gear.

What points am I incorrect on? The fact that a d35 isn't a bad axle? Have you personally had one break? Or the point that when i go 70, my Rpms are 3200? Maybe my gears aren't 3:55. That's what it says on my axles but maybe someone changed them before I got it?

If you are running 70 at 3200 than perhaps overdrive is not working correctly, torque converter not locking. That is one way to burn it up.
At 60mph I run 1900 rpm. 31" P-tires, 3.55 gears.

The higher the gearing number, the higher the freeway RPM will be. The lower the gearing number, the lower the freeway RPM will be.
