most of the ones I have seen just have 4 bolts holding it to the bumper.

Some brush guards are also mounted to the tow hook brackets....you might want to check, if you have factory tow hooks.
HTH!

Does it look anything like this??

If so you have to remove the entire bumper...

Bumpers are fairly easy to remove. There are basically TWO ways to go about this.

#1: Crawl under the front with a wrench and ratchet/socket and carefully unbolt the 6 bumper bolts (3 per side) after soaking them with your favorite penetrating oil.

#2: Pull a bone-head move on the road, lose it and forcibly remove the bumper from the front-end of your Cherokee.

Personally, I would recommend shying away from #2 for obvious reasons.

With the addition of the brush guard, I am unsure if there is more hardware attaching the whole assembly. But I am sure, if you looked under the front-end, it would be quite obvious if there was.

Good luck

Geee, Howler...I wish mine was that easy!

There were four small bolts holding the corner moldings on, and then four in the actual metal bumper.

You also have to unbolt the OEM bumper mounts to get your brush gaurd bolts out...

I just sold mine, so I removed it on Thursday...

It's not super complicated, but I would second Howler's advice and douse the bolts. I snapped three or four of the small bolts holding the plastic molding on even after a good soak.

Also, the factory wiring harness just has to be fished back through, and disconnected in the small fuse box above your passenger side fender well.

Good luck!
