New Carpet in 1995 2 Door
I can confirm that the 1997-2001 carpet fit just fine in my 1995 2 door that has the cross member in the front of the front seats. I bought it from RockAuto, part #12201160. Color was Taupe, and matched the original (I believe) carpet color just fine.
Couple of recommendations and thoughts:
-The "mass backing" is THICK and made it a MAJOR PITA to install. MUCH thicker than the OEM carpet backing on the rug I pulled out. Maybe better without it???
-Make sure you lay the old carpet on top of the new to determine how to trim the new carpet BEFORE installing.
-The new carpet had padding only in certain parts, so I bought some.more to fill in the missing areas.
-You will need something on the passenger side to shield from the heat of the exhaust system under the Jeep. The original white thermal protection was nasty, so threw it away and replaced with some reflective roll insulation I bought at Lowes hardware. Works great.
