no brake lights or flashers.
Ok so far today I put on a new brake switch, new bulbs and have poked around under the hood extensively. I tried to jump across the two wires going into the switch and still got nothing out of it. Im kind of at a loss as to what to try next. all my other lights work signals tail lights headlights parking lights. Any one else had this problem? I did a search and saw a lot of other people had this problem but couldnt verify if they found a fix.

Sounds like two different issues... I would imagine out cherkee the fuse.for the brake lights? And the brake light switch located in the pedal up the arm?

If the fuse and the flasher are good, it's likely a bad turn signal switch. The power for the brake lights, as well as the hazards, runs through the turn signal switch.

The steering wheel and lock plate will need to come off. The switch is located under the lock plate.
A tip for getting the wire harness back down through the column... Fold the connector flat over the wires so its more streamlined then stuff down through the column.

dude i just fixed the same problem earlier this week put a bigger fuse in the box, then go to the brake pedal and rewire the switch and remember which on goes where the one i had problems with was the one that points to the seat not the door.

If a fuse blows, there's a reason for it and you need to find it.

yes but you cant find any problems if the damn fuse blows every time you change it and over the last 7 years i have found that some times that can be the only way to figure out what is wrong be sides if you would have read the whole thing it says to rewire the switch

Most problems become readily apparent upon careful inspection of a schematic, components and wiring. Fuses usually blow as a result of a direct short to ground. Bigger fuses only mask the problem and melt wires.

Picked up a new switch locally lets see if that takes care of it. But it has yet to blow a.fuse guys. IM hoping that means I don't have a short to Chase down.

Be careful removing the lock plate o-ring. They are stupid-expensive ($10) if you happen to bend it up. During my short 8 years I spent working at Delphi Saginaw Steering building these columns, we used to sweep these rings up and throw them in the trash by the thousands. They were all over the floor by the o-ring press. Who woulda thought they'd get that much money for a single one at the dealer? Lol.

I have the same issue. No brake lights no signals but my clock and radio are involved too. I replace the turn signal switch and the ignition switch but nothing. Ive chased wires and everything. I'm curious to see what someone else comes up with

What year is your Jeep? Do you have access to a schematic?
