new from a auto parts store. And yes. I've bench bled it and I've checked all the lines and and I've used a pressure bleeder and bled from the wheel farthest from the MC. I'm trying to figure out the rod length. Is there a certain length is should be? Or is it just guess and check?

You want to adjust the pushrod so you have a little free play (Like 1/16" - 1/8") Yep it's a PIA.
