No bus?

I think it means your communication to yourr gauges was lost but don't quote me on this. Did you check to see if there was loose connections in the back of your cluster?

I've seen this symptom referred to in conjunction with the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Did you spray down your engine, or get it wet recently?

I haven't checked the connection behind the dash yet. I believe the dash was removed about 6 months ago to replace the heater core or some other a/c-heater related parts. Could this be the cause?

It also goes in and out. Started today when I dropped my daughter off at school. On the way home from picking her up it started to work again.

the ckps wiring has a tendency to rub on the bellhousing, causing a short to the pcm, hence your "no bus" signal. try disconnecting the crank sensor, and see if the "no bus" signal is there
