2 inch budget lift (don't have the tools or the time)
Baja lights
female end of drivers side seat belt (dont have a big enough torx)

Also need to get a new belt for it and work on getting it to quit squealing
walmart baja's on the front bumper? only took me an hour to wire mine up, only hard part is getting your hand in the bumper to tighten them down. but the only tip i can really give you is put a few layers of electrical tape on the wire that runs through the firewall on both the temp gauge and the lights, had problems with that on both

It smells burnt because you have a little coolant on your exhaust manifold. It smells weird, not like oil, and makes smoke but eventually burns off. Don't worry about it.

I don't think the cat suddenly clogged. I think your fuel pump is shot.

Take the cap off the Schrader valve on the fuel rail and energize the fuel pump. Fuel should squirt out. SQUIRT out. If it dribbles...

If fact, if you just turn the key on you'll hear the pump for about two seconds...then it will stop. If you don't hear the pump, it is not working.

Even if it works, it might not pump well enough to run the engine at speed.

In any case, changing the coolant will not destroy your engine or make it stop running. When it's cool, check the rad and overflow tank. Got fluid? All is well.

BTW, I've BTDT. Mine drove fine to the Sec of State to buy my license plate. I screwed the plate on...and it would not run. Went home on a flatbed. Talk about embarassing. My new toy...dead.

Nothing else I can think of causes your symptoms.

Once I get it home Ill be sure to check all this stuff out. Just a matter of getting the thing home.

I want to thank everyone again for all the info and suggestions.

I panic VERY easily especially when it comes to big things like vehicles etc. I get that from my dad lol.

at any rate I am calmer now knowing that it is extremely unlikely that My engine is shot.

Its always worse when

A. it is your only vehicle.
and
B. You JUST got done doing something to it.

I always say to myself "see, you should have just left well enough alone...but nooo you had to go and try to fix it"

Sounds like it could be overheating, did you burp any air out of the system? I doubt that air bubbles could be bringing it up that much but maybe if the cat was clogged as well...

Yeah, from what I could tell it got burped. I saw the bubbles come up in the pressure bottle.

I swear I always break down on the hottest days.

http://www.weather.com/outlook/healt...ge=hourlygraph

When I was still driving my beat up mercedes. It was something like 95 with a heat index of 103 or something like that and I had both front tires give out within about a week of eachother.

Ok...... You guys are gonna laugh at me. Hard.....

This is SO embarrassing....

I got back to where I broke down. I crawled under it and looked all around. Saw no loose wires or nothing bare touching metal. Checked the coolant...the pressure tank was empty (not sure where it leaked off to exactly yet) It was at the right level when I left it in the parking lot.

Anyway, I ran the engine for a while after putting more coolant in didn't smell anything strange, didn't hear anything strange. I figured... what the heck lets see if it will drive. I backed up.. no problem went to cut the wheel to turn out of the parking space and felt the whole thing jerk and shudder again. (oh great here we go all over again) It does not stall this time though as I mash in the clutch real quick.

I take a second to look all around for any warning lights coming on and I take a sniff to see if I smell anything strange... nothing.

ok WHAT the HECK!?

I look down by my shifter........

wait for it

wait for it....

ok

The ^%#%$#%^#%# thing had been in 4wd since I left my driveway to go drop off the old coolant at the recycle place. I drove about 3 miles at 35 mph and about 1/2 - 1 mile at 55 locked in 4wd HI

THAT explains the really strange smell at least. Drove it the 2 miles home stopping just about every half mile to let it cool off and check the coolant. It stayed full and I could see it flowing in the tank.

Still not exactly sure where the coolant is leaking It might have just gone down into the radiator where it was suppose to go. The haynes manual says it takes a little over 3 gallons and I still had about 2/3rds of a gallon left .... sooo Ill just have to keep a close eye on it and see if I can spot anything.

I wonder how bad I fried my front diff.

HOLY CRAP I feel like a MORON!!!

neither do i, i had to take a 2-3 hour drive to get to one, but for all the parts i got it was worth it compared to buying new ones. spent around 100 dollars gas and all for the one part i needed plus many many more, where as the dealer wanted to charge me 120 for the part. worth the drive

I did find this however while crawling around under there.

Never noticed it before. It Is located on the passenger side, attached to the bottom of the very end of the axle tube. Kind of up and behind the Control arm.

It is some kind of connector, Looks like it has 2 pins.

The reason I ask is because mine is just barely hanging on there.

No Idea what to do. Need assistance please.-what.jpg

thats your disco front end... what most people convert to solid inner axles from a TJ or a cable conversion or something like that... always causes problems on the trails not letting you get 4x4 and labeled as JUNK to the jeep world... also driving in 4x4 HI is perfectly fine... that what its designed for man... just hard to turn and can wear out axle joints and bearings easily turning alot in 4 hi on dry pavement... but 4 hi is for driving in snow or rain or whatever when you want to... your front diff is fine...
