ill throw in another cps im starting to think that the fried wiring harness killed a sensor

On 87 to 90 Jeeps it's easy to check your CPS. It's in Cruisers Sig, Linked, on-top if you click on mine.

You know if all of the sensors and electronics check out it could be mechanical.
Maybe loose intake?

iv never used a multi metter before so how do i use it and what am i checking for. im guessing its a sensor or relay cuz it ran fine before and only 240,xxx miles compared to my other jeeps 370,xxx miles which runs great.

what do i set the meter for to check the cps connecter and what should it read?

AC volts. .5 minimum while cranking.

okay i put in a whole new c101 today and new ecu started right up but as soon as i get on the gas it tries to die and back fires and it almost sounds like its backfiring through the intake.

Good news!!

Backfiring through the intake is usually caused by low fuel pressure.

well the tank is pretty much empty its in the reserve for sure. thank you all for all your help ill get pictures of her up soon.

Glad the problem is fixed. But a question... the fuel gauge didn't indicate it was empty?

Back in the begining of this post, didn't he say he ran another wire to the fuel pump (12 volts) as it was not getting any power ??? Isn't the fuel pump supposed to have 5 volts vise 12 volts to run it.???

Nope. Battery voltage on starting, about 10 volts on running because the voltage is reduced through the fuel pump ballast resistor in that position.
