There's always folks out there that could mess up an anvil with a rubber mallet.

That shouldn't discourage others from using the old water trick.

fwiw I took a garden hose and sprayed it into the throttle body. bout a 5 min process. it immediately blew a bunch of smoke out, but hardly any after the first 10 seconds. I think it'd be harder on the electronic parts than the hard parts. I chocked the throttle with a big flat head screwdriver, somewhere around 3500-4k rpm lol and just sprayed water in steadily enough to bog the engine down but not kill it. I'd then let it rev up and clean itself out. checked the plugs after that and they looked brand new despite 15k miles of use haha

it's hard to cause a problem with water, but I'm sure it's possible. I didn't notice anything in the oil. I'm guessing if a bit of water did make it's way in that it would boil out simply from use.

Sooooo, you're thinking a few Dixie cups full trickled in at a decent rate would be okay then? LOL....

That's probably because it will do exactly that. It's a well tested, time-proven technique, in both civilian and military applications. Everything from piston engines to jets, as discussed above.

Like every other possible thing you can do to a machine, there's a right way and a wrong way. Do it the wrong way and you can mess things up.

That doesn't mean there isn't a right way.

When your done your pistons and valves will be sandblasted.) would you do that trick???

That's just plain stupid to compare the two. Water injection has about a 100 year history of working well. If you aren't aware of that, that's your problem.

Just make sure you don't wash your car. Some people have been stupid about it and hosed out the inside of the cabin and ruined the upholstery and electronics.

That obviously means you should never wash your car!

Oh, and don't put air in your tires! People have blown up tires that way, and some have been injured and even killed!

And make sure you NEVER add transmission fluid! Some people overfill their transmissions and ruin them!

Well stated, and true, Mark.

Google Brad Stine about putting a helmet on.

Those of us with competence should not shy away from procedures which could be beneficial to us just because a moron could do it wrong.
