Are your grounds at the dipstick tube stud clean and shiny? No paint.... They all there on the stud?
Get the firewall ground on clean and shiny?

By chance, is there another CPS connector in the area of the one you're using now?

Chuppaaron. there are some reasons for that:
  • It helps others learn.
  • It lets others chime in with useful information. (Or sometimes, not. )
  • Nobody volunteered to be your personal, private XJ guru.

And what brand is it? These things are pretty sensitive to sensor quality, and every Jeep forum is full of horror stories about bad aftermarket sensors, from bad out of the box to failing in a few months.

Also check your cam sensor. Dunno if the 88 has an ASD relay, but if so, that needs to be looked at.

So I’ve been able to get some spark but it’s weak could that be the coil going out? I’ve went through all my connections and grounds and cleaned them all again
