i removed the cps and when examining the cable, it snapped like a twig! the rubber cover had become hard and the copper wire oxidized and broke apart, it still gave me right ohms and voltages though!?! im about to install a new one

Install new wires and a cps let us know an update... Make sure your cps wiring is mounted away from the exhaust...

That's great news make sure those wires are not near your exhaust...
