can somebody tell me a step by step to determine the cause of a no spark issue. i drove my 1989 cherokee up to the garage to install the new injectors 280155746 went to fire it up and now no spark new ecu,coil cps,o2,plugs ,wires ,cap ,rotor.

 

I like using a test light to check for ground pulse to the coil. You also need to test for power at the coil (you can use a test light as well). If there's no pulse, look towards the wiring, ECU, or CPS. If you have pulse and power at the coil, look at plug wires, cap, rotor, or spark plugs. I choose to start at the coil to "half-split" the system. You can rule out about half the components with one test.

 

Do you have injectors pulsing? On an 89, the ECU controls the positive side, and they have a common ground.

 

i have no pulse at injectors

 

So it's a no fuel issue too?

I'd start by getting a REM II:

Go over your work. Unplug the CPS and plug it back in after spraying it out with contact cleaner.

 

gonna start over i have ordered the rem11 from nick i have 1.5 volts fromm cps gonna see if that is at the ecu

 

i have 1.9 volts of the 5volts required by the ecu from the distributor to c16 i have cont.between blue and gray wires but nothing from the black ground wire

 

i get 1.8volts from ditributor with the same at ecu.changed distributor same results

 

So:
new ecu,coil cps,o2,plugs ,wires ,cap ,rotor and now new distributor.

When did all these go in; before or after your injectors?
