Naw, that was the flat rate for a diagnostic, he didn't charge me for the fuse

where was this fuse located. i have the same problem in my 88

Mine was a 99, it was under the hood in the relay and fuse center. Yours might be a Crank Positioning Sensor (CPS) as well, located towards the top side of the bellhousing on the drivers side
