It's not that. I've already tried that as well as jiggling the ignition switch while turning it to start. No results on either.
Moving the battery cables around however, does yield results. The terminals are free of corrosion, I used a wire brush to clean the exposed wires at the end of each cable, installed the new cable ends and sprayed on the protectant. So far................no problems.

I've seen those clamps referred to as "for emergency road repair". With the molded type terminal clamp, of course you wouldn't have that problem.

I just think it's weird how the battery cables can have a good enough connection to keep the battery charged, have bright lights when you turn them on but, not be able to even get a "click" out of the solenoid when you try to start it. In any case, the problem is fixed so it's all good now.
