I recently put in a new crank position sensor as the old one would die if it got too hot. The new one starts fine cold but if I try to restart after it gets warm (e.g. shutting the car off to go shopping and coming back) it will crank but not fire. If I take the key out and try again about every 3rd time it will fire right up. I have unplugged the cps and replugged it and it has also fired right up. The connections look clean so I'm stumped

I got the new cps from rock auto standard motor brand. Just wondering if its a dud or if anyone else has experienced this. Also I have good fuel pressure, I check the little nipple on the fuel rail and it was good when it wouldn't fire.

Guys will always tell you to use Mopar sensors whenever possible.
And there have been plenty of bad out of the box threads when it comes to aftermarket parts.
Including, and especially, the CPS.
