Noises while in 4 wheel drive
My 90 is making horrible noises while in 4wd. I mostly use it for off road use only but needed to use it on the road a few times in the snow. While off road I didn't notice the noise while in 4wd because all my driving off road is mostly crawling, now that I've had it on the road in 4wd anything above 5 or 10 mph this happens....When I shift into 4 part time or full time I experience a clicking that becomes almost a thumping at times. It seems to be consistent with the speed of the drive shaft. It also gets worse on acceleration and deceleration. I have not had the chance to get it up on jack stands and take a closer look due to the weather being crappy, but my question is, What engages when in 4wd? I assume when in 2wd my front diff and front drive shaft are rotating the same as in 4wd? The t-case obviously engages, could I have something going on with my t-case? Every u joint in the truck is new, along with front hubs. All fluids are clean and at proper levels. Can someone point me in the right direction as far as what to look at when I go to tackle this thing?
Thanks
Thanks
