Noisey Suspension question...
I installed lift spacers, a CA drop bracket setup, adjustable trackbar and lift shackles last weekend. For the first couple days all was good, then the squeaking began. The rear shackles squeak almost constantly, and the front suspension makes some funky noises when going over bumps, or articulating.
When I installed everything I greased the crap out of all the bushings. Front UCAs and LCAs at both ends, and I completely filled the shackles with grease wherever it would go, I just slathered it on there. Same with the adj. TB up front. I also checked and made sure all the CAs were torqued to factory specs and the CA drops were also torqued down heavily enough.
My question is, what can be done about this squeaking? Is it just because the new parts aren't settled into a groove yet, and if so, how long till they quiet down? Or could it be that the new shackles/adj. TB have poly bushings on them, and they are just going to be squeaky no matter what I do?
I just want my Jeep to sound normal again! I just finished up my exhaust and motor work the way I want it, and it sounds sweet. Only to have my Jeep's suspension start squeaking like a rickety old truck! Thanks in advance for any help!

Yeah, initially i lubed them up with white lithium grease because that was all i had in the garage. When I found that to be fairly ineffective at stopping the squeaks, I loosened everything back up and packed a ton of multi-use lithium grease (The standard automotive grade crap that comes in a tube) in every moving joint, then torqued everything back down to spec.
Did i use the wrong grease, or is this something that will settle over time?
Also, I tightened the shackle bolts with the suspension unloaded. I have read since then that those bolts should be tightened with the suspension loaded. Is this true, and could this be causing my squeaks?

Not a whole lot of responses on this one... Nobody has any insight into this? I'm pretty stumped as to why this thing won't stop making so much noise!

How are your control arm bushings? Mine were toast and the axle rotated foward making the stabilizer bar scrape the coil springs. Contrl arm bushings?

When I first lifted mine I only did 3" and it made horrible noises. I found out it was my discos in the front. The lift was to small for the discos. I went up to 4" and the squeks went away. Dont know if you have them but links may be too short or long. Just an idea

Yeah, I'm starting to think its either the Control Arm bushings or my trackbars bushings at this point. I don't think it's my swaybar endlinks though, as they are for a 4-6" lift and I have 4.5-5" of lift.. I guess I'm gonna have to dig in and do a little re-greasing and inspection of my front suspension bushings on friday..

you said you added shackles but you did not say if you replaced leafs or shocks. It sounds like your leafs are shot and you could need new shocks in front and rear. Your lift has put a little extra leverage on the leafs causing them to have more pressure on them. I think until you replace those leafs and shocks you are going hear the squeaking. BTW... mine makes the same noise and it drives me crazy as well, so I know just what you are talking about. My fix it plan is to replace the shackles with the originals and install new leafs with new shocks in front and back. That should stop the noise.

man the day after i came on here and said that I fixed my squek I got two new squeks today. One coming from the rear and another is more like a creaking. But the discos arent going nuts anymore. My fix it solution would normally be to turn up the radio, but Im down to just the one speaker in the drivers side door. So no hiding from it anymore

Did i use the wrong grease, or is this something that will settle over time?

there is a bracket behind the driver side front spring. my spring rubs on this bracket and makes a hell of a squeak. I put some grease on the bracket between the spring and it stops
