for sure, i have rebuilt over 70 honda manual transmissions from what everyone is telling me the jeep transfer case is very simple, when i ever get a day off ill look at it till then hope it lasts

so far though all the noise is not there anymore, im not getting any vibrations anymore so idk maybe its the mount and maybe my old tires were bad

My transfer case makes noise in 4wd as well. It never made a noise until then though, so I freaked out initially, but luckily I can drive in the snow without it, so I can avoid it until I fix it. How do I check the fluid?

The front driveshaft should have a little play, but the rear shouldn't. Looks like someone used regular oil as transfer case fluid. Needs Dex/Merc ATF. And obviously you're gonna need some new seals..

The PO actually just replaced the rear seal. He said that every jeep he has had has made the whining noise to a degree. Luckily it really just sounds like the chain doing its job, I was just unfamiliar with the sound. I wam getting it checked out though for sure
