Yes but when you are at a steady speed like 45 or 50 mph and hit the gas does the rpm jump up real quick or does it increase steadily with the speed?

It won't shift but it will bounce up like 250 rpms before it accelerates if thats what you mean by jump up real quick.

Yes that's what I mean, your torque converter isn't locking.

Ok so I did the brake pedal trick at 55 mph and nothing happened. What would be a next diagnosis trick to find out why its not locking up? Like I said before, my temperature doesn't get much above the first tick on the temp gauge. Does the engine have to be at operating temperature for it to lock or is that obsolete.

I would try to find a wiring diagram of the transmission control module for your year and find the wire for the TCC (torque converter clutch) solenoid and put power to it and see if that locks the converter. If it doesn't then your TCC solenoid is bad if it does lock then you have a issue with getting power to the solenoid.

Ok one more question for ya. How would I go about applying power to the solenoid once I find the wiring? Thanks for the help by the way. Im only asking all of these questions because I just want a good idea of what i'm getting into.

You can run a wire from the positive side of the battery with an inline fuse or you could even use an old phone charger, or power cord that plugs into your power port and cut the cord strip the wires and plug it into the power port and use that for your 12 volt power source, just be sure you are using the positive wire. Then you can unhook the tcm and put power to the pin that is for the correct solenoid. The best way to do it is to be in gear with your foot on the brake, then if you put power to the wire for the TCC solenoid and the converter locks your engine will stall.

Couldn't this be checked at the brake light switch?

Definitely found some corrosion, more than likely due to my "light" water crossing earlier lol hoping me cleaning off the corrosion and some dialectic grease might do the trick!
