not the usual power windows electrical problem
So I came home for Christmas and was driving my jeep around, and soon noticed none of my windows work. I thought it must be the accessory fuse, which happened before, but it wasnt.
so I looked to see if i could see anything disconnected but i couldnt find anything. no windows work from any switch.
anyone have any suggestions?

I did, they all looked fine to me. I wasn't aware any of the relays controlled windows, but even so I pulled them all out and looked and they seemed fine.
this is a fix for when the lock on the driver's switch goes bad, which isn't my problem exactly. I know this is the most common window problem for the cherokee, but mine don't work at all from any switch.
you think it still might be the ground?
the power locks still work by the way.

I still yet to figure this out...
does anyone have any suggestions before I rip out the harness and just rewire it with new wire?
I tested all the switches and they all work perfectly.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this?

power windows electrical problem
Had a similar, but worse problem on my GC.
Turned out to be a broken wire in the wiring harness in the door-shut rubber boot. Not necessarily easy to spot, but if so it's a cheap fix with a compact inline connector.

Well, in case someone in the future stumbles upon this looking for answers I will post what my fix was!
I ripped the tape off of my whole harness, and nothing looked out of the ordinary... I just wasn't convinced that it was the harness so I looked deeper.
I looked at a wiring diagram and found that the power to the windows comes from the battery, then to the fuse box where it hits a circuit breaker, then goes into the harness.
My problem was the connection from the circuit breaker to the harness within the fuse box. The metal piece that the fuses are plugged into that connects the circuit to the harness wire was somehow not even there... (did I take this out? did somehow sabotage me? I really don't know why it was gone...)
So I had to do a little improvising and soldering, but I got the connection from the circuit breaker to the harness all solid and everything works great.
Also worth noting is that these circuit breakers (it was fuse block 30 on a mid 96 model, silver looking thing bigger than blade fuses) are known to fail, so you should check the congruency of this too.
Good luck to anyone out there.

How strange - just goes to show that basic wiring checks can pay off!
