Thanks Cruiser, that's the method I use for shifting it. I've had issues with this case since I bought the Jeep a few years back.
I did a fluid change and adjusted the linkage a couple days ago. It shifts much better now than it ever has, but when in 4FT there is a noticeable bit of whining/whirring noise. All other positions are pretty much silent.
