nss problems or is it somthing else ?
ok so after doing the nss clean and re-install 3/4 times the stock nss cracked crumbled and is no more lol so i got a new nss and it worked for 3 days then no start no crank nothing .. i bypassed it started right up so i ordered another nss thinking i got a faulty one . so i planned on sending the first one back when i got the second new nss since i need my jeep to get around ect. i installed the second one and no start ,, bypassed and starts right up .. now do i have another problem here or was i sent a new bad nss any ideas of things to check out ? is there a way to test a nss with like a volt meter ? thanks in advance

My first thought would be to check the receiving connector. Sometimes when a new aftermarket connector brutes its way onto an old/brittle factory connector, the old one loses and pins/contacts get messed up. So check that out when able.
My next thought would be that the the NSS is not properly oriented/calibrated to the park/neutral positions of the gear selection. I assume you have tried moving it around a bit to see if you can get a start out of it? The FSM probably does illustrate the connector pinout such that a multimeter could be used to test the component in its various positions to ensure that the internal contacts are doing their job.

I dont know what year you have, so ill post continuity checks for both old and new. Chock the wheels and/or set the parking brake (i do both, just because). Then shift into each gear while checking the NSS connector.
