Default Which O2 sensor brand should i go with?

So i have a 2001 XJ 4.0 Sport. I currently have the P0175 code (too rich bank 1) So i figured id change the sensors as i think they may be the originals and with 198,000 miles they should be changed anyways. I have heard the Bosch ones dont play well with XJs. The Mopar ones are double the price of most others and due to my limited budget at the moment, id like to get something less expensive if possible. I was thinking maybe NTK? Amazon has a whole bunch of "off brand" much less expensive ones but id guess those are no good? Unless someone has good experience with one of those. Something good but not top of the line would work for me. Im thinking $50-$60 each. Let me know what you guys have used with no issues!

Look in your OBD program and see if you can generate sensor waveforms:

In 2000/2001 4.0 the downstream sensors do participate in AFR. In the absence of an outright O2 sensor failure code it could just as easily be the S2s.

Never heard of O2 sensors being changed as a service item.

Never replaced any on my XJ's (although none have done that sort of mileage) but had to replace one on my 3,7 KJ, because I damaged the wire, removing the downpipe/cats. I was told by someone who I trust that any old universal one would do (about £20/$25 I think) as long as the wire colours were the same. So I went one better (i.e. cheaper) & used one off my parts XJ, just lopped the plugs off them both & spliced the KJ plug onto the XJ sensor: job done! How long will it last? Who knows - but almost certainly long enough.

Normally you probably dont have to, but i have heard every 100-150k miles they should be changed. Also i have a P0175 code (system to rich) and one of the fixes is the changing the sensors so i figured it would be good practice to do it since this XJ has 198K miles and im pretty sure they have never been changed. But for normal service, yea you probably don't have to change them until you have over 100K miles on it. At least, thats what i have been told/heard/seen on the interwebs..

I just have an inexpensive code reader, doesn't appear to have that feature. I just figured it would be a good idea to change them anyways since there is over 198K miles on it and they are the originals. They are fairly easy to change and even the MOPAR ones aren't going to break the bank so why not? Then i know they have been changed and they should last another 100k assuming the XJ lasts that long haha. I was just curious if there were cheaper options than the MOPAR ones that were known to be good.

I have been using NTK on both XJs I have (98,99) and my 95 YJ. Have had no issues whatsoever with plenty of miles on all of the,.

Wow. Looks like those are hard to find (for a reasonable price). I hope it's jsut a temporary supply chain kind of problem. Glad I have replaced all the O2 sensors in my jeeps over the last several years.

I heard to that O2 sensors do have about a 150K life before they start getting "lazy".
Replaced mine years ago when I had about 150K on my '00 thinking they were still original so..
Used NTK's back then cause as other people have said that is "Factory" so...
Been some talk lately about 2 of the 4 that you need for an '00 or '01 with CA Emissions being N/A.
And don't think it is a temporary supply chain issue.
Even some talk, I believe on this forum, of the last of them being defective and that is the reason that NGK might have discontinued them.
And just now poking around thinking the other 2 that were available not to long ago, cause I started poking around as soon as the threads about them being N/A started popping up,
are now not either.
Funny to cause always anticipating parts just becoming N/A as the years go by started hoarding things sometime ago.
Had I known this was going to be an issue with NTK O2 sensors would have grabbed all 4 for my '00 from my store years ago.
Oh well.
Did just buy 2 of the 4 that were the first ones to become N/A off the Marketplace to have in stock.
Of course these could be the defective ones that were mentioned about in that thread so but I figured it was worth taking a chance.
LOL.

Let it be known for all eternity that the last NTK O2 Sensor for the 96-01 Jeep 4.0 sold for $15.13 on wholesaler closeout...

I'm going to call on @Cummins93 for verification on this one, but I believe the only difference between the 91+ and 96+ models is the connector.

The connector is the only difference I can see between them.

All my XJ's have over 100,000 miles on them, even the KJ's done 120,000-odd & that only needed one replacing because I was clumsy; now happily running with one off the '96 (& the "wrong" one at that).

Just out of curiosity, had a look at what was available here; shedloads of 'em but very few branded ones: 1st off, FebiBilstein, then the much more expensive offering from Lucas (yes, really), Bosch at twice the price & for 50% over even that - NTK!
