Yeah I've tried the tape thing but it still bugs the hell out of me. Plus I'd like to know if something pops up besides the o2 sensor that I should know about. I rent out my truck sometimes to tourists and it's not exactly the best incentive when you hand them a truck with the CEL on lol. What type of damages can I expect to see?

You also may run into issues with doing this - o2 sensors run on very tight voltage tolerances. If the connection isn't that great when you splice the wires, it will be useless and not solve the issue. Also the wiring colors are usually different, and it may be hard to find the correct splice pattern.

Also you would need to make sure the universal has the same number of wires (2 or 3 wires i believe for a heated sensor).

Well honestly, its hard to say. If things aren't perfect, as you know, problems can tend to cascade throughout the system. I mean its not going to explode or anything, but it could cause other issues, of which running overly lean could cause overheating problems which if severe enough could damage the engine, or running rich could eventually cause the CAT to clog for real.

Its not backpressure, its velocity that is the concern. And the cat has nothing to do with velocity.

This is totally false, you do NOT burn more fuel without a cat, I am running a 93 4.0 with out a cat, in my CJ7 with 35in tires, 4.56 gears, my HWY milege is 16-18

The deal is that its technically illegal to remove a cat from a vehicle that had one from the factory.

Because of this we are unable to discuss the true facts about cats and their removal.

So plenty of myths get generated by those who just make **** up that they think sounds good.

Hi flow cats can set an erroneous code for cat failure. A down stream simulator cures that issue. An even better option is if you can get access to a tuner is to have the code removed from the ECM.
