Default Odd fuel leak issue near fuel filter.

on my 1993 4.0 XJ i replaced the cooling system and when I got it all back together i start it up to make sure everything was working. When the coolant temp finally got up to 210 coolant started shooting out of the water pump, the temp on the dash started to obviously rise fast to the red and and i shut off the vehicle. I forgot to tighten the hose clamp on the water pump. Anyways while all this was happening and the temps were briefly in the red i had smelled fuel and glanced under the rear where the fuel filter is at and noticed fuel spraying out and onto the ground. i didnt have a chance to see exactly where it was coming from but ive started the vehicle and drove it briefly and it hasn't done it since. Im new to these engines but would the overheating cause a some sort of spike in fuel pressure? Im going to replace the fuel lines and fuel filter as a precaution but im baffled.

If its the original rubber fuel line (likely), just around about now, they start getting soft, or splitting.

They should definitely be replaced by fuel hose than can take 50psi

You need about between 2-3ft..measure it

Most definitely going to replace the fuel lines and the filter, its 5/16 and 3/8 for the fuel lines i believe.

To answer your original question the overheating didn't cause the fuel leak.... just old fuel line.

Thank you. just crazy to me the coincidental timing and that it hasn't happened again.
