Default Which OEM rear spring rate?

I think my xj has tired rear springs, I think they need replacement. Looked up replacement spring and found 3 different rates 500+lbs, 605lb and a 755lbs I do tow fairly heavy fishing boat, 2800lb. We also tow it behind the motor home when we just go out exploring, and wheeling. So it will being doing multi duty’s. Which rate would be best. My jeep came with tow package, it has the trailer light pig tail factory installed and factory class 3 trailer hitch. Any input is greatly appreciated, as all ways.

would get a different vehicle to tow the boat(for safety reasons. I have a utility trailer that weighs 1000 pound MT. I do not haul much weight in it because of the size of my XJ. When I had my 78 Bronco, I did not give it a second thought. The heaviest and best of luck.

We don’t tow the boat with the jeep on the hyway. Just from the lake boat ramp to the Rv parking area. The jeep came with a class 3 hitch and tow package. We just put the boat in at the boat in at the ramp and back to theRV parking maybe 1/8 mile. So no we don’t haul it 50 miles be hind the xj. The jeep squats down more than I like with just the tinge weight.I’m thinking the 755# springs will do the job. Sorry should have been more clear. It is an Aluminum Lund boat? Maybe 400# on the ball.
Thanks for the response.

I got the 545 Lb Omix from Quadratec. They are advertised as replacements for XJs with original tow package. I like the way it sits and rides with these springs. I can't imagine 605 Lb springs would be a whole lot stiffer.

You might check the rear spring bump stops to verify they are there and in good condition. The rubber tends to disintegrate with age. They help prevent overstressing the springs if you have more than desired tongue weight.

Got the Old Man Emu's that were rated replacements for my XJ Sport (1" lift from factory) with tow package (would have to dig through receipts to find the details). They sit quite high unloaded/not towing which is most of the time for me, making it look tilted forward. Although good brand, I would go with others next time, but that will be in 20+ years..

If it’s too high in the rear, you could always put coil spring isolator bushings in the front, to level it out. I’m not sure how much higher, if any that a tow package would sit.

When I put these into my XJ, it raised the rear end up about an inch / slightly higher than an inch. I then installed factory “UpCountry" coil springs in the front to level it out. Expect the rear leaf springs to take a month or so to settle out.

I put new bump stops all around when I did new shocks, and front suspension.
