The “OFFICIAL JEEP CHEROKEE XJ SURVIVOR THREAD”
Let’s see all those “SURVIVOR” Jeeps!
Those XJ’s who survived time in there original..
UNALTERED factory condition.
Orig. Body and matching drive train.
I will start this off..
96 Jeep Cherokee “Classic”
128,300 miles.
4.0L H.O inline 6
5spd.
4 door
4X4
Moss Green Pearl.
** Maybe the Mods. Can make this a “STICKY”?

I'll withdraw my 87 due to snow plow added.
Surprisingly, AMC did list a snow plow set-up pkg for early XJs according to the owner's manual.

A suggestion to XJ owners interested in keeping the XJ tribe alive and restoration: Someone start a thread of where else besides XJ's to source corporate common parts.
The digital dash clocks in mine were also used in the Chrysler Lazer and Dodge Daytona in the mid to late 1980's.

I'd love to be able to post my XJ among these beautiful examples, but alas the P.O. ran the engine without oil and seized it then replaced it with an engine from another XJ. Otherwise the tranny and transfer case are original and still run great with over 300k on them and is stock height.
Had I been able to take my Dad's 94 I have no doubt it would be here since the original drivetrain still ran flawlessly despite the 400k on the odometer and only needed some floor panels and rust restoration on the roof.

If you have the part number, Google it, and can find a Mopar online retailer they usually have a "What It Fits" section on the page.
This will tell you all the Mopars that use this same part.
Also if you can find the part on the Napa site they have the "Buyer's Guide" section. This will tell you all the cars that this part fits. Not just Mopars.
RockAuto does the same thing too when you click on the part number.
How much you can trust the info you see is anybodies guess.
But at least it is a jumping off point of sorts.
