Talk to Ralph77 - you can find factory privacy glass and install it yourself for the most part. He did so with great success.

Jealous. Very jealous.

I could do without the color or 2 doors, but a stock 4wd 99 with the AX15 and only 111k!?! Oh man.. that's beautiful.

If I'm not mistaken those are Dietz lights on the plow frame but you would have to put the picture back up for us to be sure.

Just throwing my opinion out there.
I agree. The right term may be "original stock" that the O.P. is looking for.

Also, being factory original isn't as much of an accomplishment as a real "survivor" jeep. An aptly named "survivor" jeep in my mind is one that has been driven, used and relied upon it's entire life without failing and without being subjected to modifications. Any brand or model can be shut away in a garage or barn and then 20-25 years later pulled out and held up as somehow special. The XJ's legendary status was earned by having a consistent, widespread experience where the vehicle just keeps on going strong long after so many others don't. Oh sure, there's that one or two examples of your 400k original miles on brand X or Y, but does brand X or Y ROUTINELY go 3, 4, 500k original miles? XJ's do. Do you see many TJ's these days...I don't, maybe it's because I live in a high rust area, I see more random XJ's than TJ's driving around. Heck one guy I've known for 2 years has had only 1 daily driven vehicle the entire time I've known him and it's an 88 XJ. 31 year old vehicle that this guy still relies on to get him to work every single day. It has truck mirrors bolted to the door and he just repaired the floor boards and a redneck 3" lift, but that's an accomplishment - that's special. The only thing that showing me a factory original vehicle 18-20 years old with under 100k miles on it tells me is that the owner barely drove or had money to own a second vehicle they never drove and likely has a garage or barn with a sound roof.

I mean, it's just my opinion.

But remember I only did the cargo are windows and rear doors myself. Had my glass guy do the hatch window.
The tints on that Jeep are not factory on the front windows at least. I am almost positive Privacy Glass was not on those.
But I could be wrong.
Somebody here used a 20% tint on their front windows to match their Factory Privacy Glass. Looked really close.
Also for anybody attempting this on a '97 and up beware.
The rear window molding is not available from Jeep anymore. And best I can tell there is not aftermarket part available either.
I don't think you can take out the window on a '97 and up without ruining it. I would like to know for sure. Wish I watched as my guy did mine.
If I am correct I still think you could gunk the window in there but will have to get creative with a universal type molding to finish it.

Hahaha - I did say "for the most part" since I knew about the hatch.

Yeah, I'd be shocked if anyone had factory privacy front window glass. I know that in NH it's illegal to have any tint on those windows.

I bought it where is sits in that pic for $1300 so... I am not a huge lover of the color but it’s growing on me and I love the 2 door because you just don’t see them every day but a 4 door is way more convenient

Took me a while to find a 2 door. Turned out it was all y'all looking at the one I bought sitting out in front of the dealer all year. I asked why it didn't sell and the sales manager said "everybody who mentioned it said they didn't want white, or they didn't want a 2 door." It ended up being on sale for about $11,000 (I don't remember exactly, was way lower than the insane sticker price).

How many of these 'SURVIVOR' XJ's have the original tires? Huh? Huh?

How many of us would want to drive an XJ with original tires? Lord knows I am not doing 65 on the highway with tires as old as me.

If I may offer my two cents:

I think an XJ could be a survivor as long as it is kept "relatively" original. Any modifications should be ones that are either period correct, or can be EASILY undone (no lifts or fender trimming). If someone changed the stereo in a 1992 Jeep in say, 1996 (before you brought it)? There is nothing you can do about it. It is not something as drastic as say, cutting the dash to fit a double din receiver and amps for the four 12" subs in the cargo area.

For instance, if you have original paint that does not have the clearcoat peeling, or missing, it could be considered a survivor.
If the XJ has no rust, its a survivor.
If it has its original rims, its a survivor.
Original motor and trans? Survivor

Nothing can be kept 100% original unless it has no miles, and has its original oil, filter, coolant, fuel, etc. etc.

There is definitely some gray area.

That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Blindsided by the Alpine I had installed a couple of years after my factory AM/FM Cassette expired! (New speakers behind the original grills too)

So for anybody wanting to maintain their "survivor" status and if your Jeep came with these rims check this out:
