penzoil if it don't leak i would switch over to a good synthetic like amsoil or castrol synthetic. amsoil has a product designed for cleaning out the engine before switching to synthetic. check it out. your engine is probably full of sludge using penzoil.

www.amsoil.com

I use Lucas oil stabilizer in my rigs i do not use synthetic in. I put a whole quart in, and 5 quarts of Valvoline conventional or Castrol product. In the northern area i live in, I usually use 5w 30.

if you use a oil with good additive packs you wont need a oil stabilizer...any info to support your thrash of penzoil?? or just something you read online in a forum?

how do you guys feel about Castrol high mileage oil? ive heard pretty good stuff about them. but then again ive heard that other high mileage oils swell up seals and make them leak. is there any truth to this?

just my opinion but if you've been using pennzoil and had no trouble, stay with it and maybe step up to a 10w40.

If your engine has leaky seals, then using Castrol High Milage oil will swell the seals somewhat and stop the leaking/weeping/seeping. Seals deteriorate and shrink over time and high milage oils/additives renew their sealing abilities somewhat. If your engine does not leak/weep/seep, then I'd not use a high milage oil.

I've used Castrol High Milage 10w-30 for the past year in my '84 Dodge RamCharger with about 200,000 miles. It stopped a rear main seal leak. However, prior to that, I used Mobil 1 10w-30 exclusively. Perhaps switching to any conventional oil would have stopped the leak.

talk to any engine guy and they will tell you the engine is full of sludge after using penzoil. I've had fellow jeepers tell me, cummins diesel shops tell me etc. No i have never first hand seen it. Check out some oil threads on here and you will see that that people talk down on penzoil and royal purple for there 4.0s. I use neither. I just listen to what people have to say and then ask my questions. Simple as that.

I am tho a firm believer in keeping with what you been using.

hahahaha Doesn't your jeep mark its territory?

I looked at some reviews on Penzoil. Of course you are going to find alot of people that love it. Most only review something if they like it or are just into that kind of thing. One common thing i seen was people that had trouble talk about the wax in the oil. So cheers or jeers it seems like a horse a piece. Its not going in my engine.
