Default Oil Analysis and UV Dye Questions

Sent off my WIX oil sample to Atlanta on 8/3/2019, USPS says it just got there this afternoon 8/12/2019 (Good Lord!)

Guessing they will be fine, but what other oil analysis places do y'all use?

Also, I added dye when I filled up the oil 9 days ago, still haven't found any leaks with the UV light and good skookum 3M yellow safety glasses. How long does the dye persist? Bought the stuff at Pep Boys.

Put the coolant variety in radiator and overflow too, haven't found any leaks there either.

I use Blackstone. Takes a while to get the results back. Usually a week at least. Some people claim that Blackstone is using dated uncalibrated equipment and is giving out bad info. I dunno I've been using them for years and have no complaints. I've never used the WIX one, I'm guessing this is a service though Napa?

Ordered the kit direct from WIX online (edit: might have been ordered from O'Reilly, but it came in the mail). Couldn't find any parts places near me, including NAPA, that had oil analysis kits in the store. Somehow USPS delivers the empty kit way faster than they can get the package back to Atlanta.

IIRC, results after they receive it is about 2 weeks.

I use Blackstone as well. Takes about 2 weeks to get results from the time I mail out the sample. I just sent one out last Friday so we will see how long it takes this time.

I finally found their website, Blackstone-Labs.Com sounds like a good deal even though it is $10 more than WIX.

Just got oil analysis back via email, says normal. Big positive thing is no coolant in the oil! And I noticed today, my coolant level worries might have just been temperature and how level the vehicle is sitting. In a good flat spot, overflow is at the full line where I filled it just after replacing the leaking heater valve.

I'll have to try WIX kit in the future. I've still got a bunch of preaddressed Blackstone kits though.
