Oil filter adapter torx bit size
Hey all
I reviewed some threads but couldn't find anything pertaining to my problem.
I've tried the T60 bit and it's too small. For some reason mine requires a larger bit.
Any ideas before I go out and spend money on a set to find the right size ???
Thanks

I have no clue whats going on as that pic is a blurr, but if a T60 is too small, how small? Does it grab at all? Could be rounded out and a T70 is what you need. I dont know. Does the bolt have a hex head along with a torx? Its possible the PO replaced that bolt with something else.

I bought a T60 separately off the shelf just for this job. It does not grab at all. It spins freely. I don't have anything bigger than that in that style bit.
I did however ruin two more sockets (5/8 and 1/2) by punching them out as you can't get them in with the sleeve thanks to the frame rail and motor mount to see what fits. The 1/2 is just a little bit small and the 5/8 is too big.
Have to go to harbor freight and see what's between the two.
The pick shows the opening. I can plainly see the hexagon shape the torx should fit into. I posted the pic in case it looked different from someone elses.

Ok here's the dilly
I had to punch out a 9/16 hex bit.
The T60 was way too small.
Had to remove the coolant reservoir and some hoses outta the way because of the angle of the double open ended wrench combo.
Whole job with oil change took about an hour. Would've been less had my garage been more organized.
