Oil Pan Gasket, 3rd Fail. (pictures)
Well this is now the 3rd time i have taken off my oil pan trying to fix a never ending oil leak.
Every time i take the oil pan off the gasket is "bent" on the Rear Gasket.
It will bend either inside the pan or outside the pan.. but it never stays straight.
Any help on how to fix this problem would be much appricated.
Each time i installed the RTV, i put the pan on within minutes of application. i dont know if this would cause this to happen.
I'm going to start crying soon =(

I think i might have gotten it figured out.
I went back under my jeep and took a spotlight and looked really closely all around that back gasket joint.
Turns out there is 2 tiny little 1/8th inch by 1/8th inch by 1/4 inch, slots where those 2 corners of the end gasket are suppoesd to fit into.
They were filled with the old gasket, and my old gasket was the same color as my Motor Block, so i couldnt even see these slots, and I just left them flush with the side gaskets.
So i sat there and picked and poked, and pulled for about 30 minutes and cleaned out the 2 tiny slots.. and now its all back togeather... just gonna let it sit for a few hours before i put the oil back in and test it out.

install it on the block side is a good idea, or if u dont drive the jeep everyday just RTV the back piece on let it sit over night then put the rest of the one piece gasket on, works everytime for me.

Bingo....
The rear lip rests in a groove on the bearing cap, you need to attach the gasket to the block. Figure two days for this. Use some semi permanent hi-tack and adhere the gasket to block using the bolts to hold it till it sets overnight. Then install pan.

Use Super Weatherstrip Adhesive to bond the gasket to the block. Just make sure the surface has no oil on it. The SWA cures in a couple of minutes, then your ready to go.

Jimlask looks like the RTV needs to cure longer or you not setting the gasket in the groove or its over torqued...that's what comes to mind.....
