Oil plug leaking
I changed my oil about 3 times since I obtained the thing and all was fine. This past time(number 4), it started leaking from the plug. The first thing I did was try a new aluminum gasket. No help still leaking. Next was the nylon gasket no luck. Next was both nylon and aluminum. No luck. The last time when I tried both I actually got a new plug but it wouldn't go on easily and I literally had 5 minutes to work on it so I just threw on the 2 gaskets/washers. Maybe the new plug will work but I see no reason why the old plug which was working shouldn't work again. Any hints or suggestions. I am tired of leaking oil all over the place and don't want to buy new oil for no reason. Thanks. Ps I thought of just getting a new oil pan but they are pretty expensive so also if anyone knows of where to get a cheap one or if junkyard used pans work ok please tell me.

just FYI - you will not find a self tapping drain plug in the size you need for these oil pans, I promise you.
Was/am in the same boat, but when I last changed my oil my plug luckily got a much better seat than I was expecting it to, and it hasn't leaked.
Try using 2 brass crush fittings, sometimes the nice fat nylon ones can work decently too.
Otherwise the only option really is to drop the pan and either tap it out properly and get all the metal shavings out (which is only really garunteed to be done right if the pan is off) or just replace the pan. The pans are only like $50-60 new on rockauto.
If you don't know when the pan was dropped last/RMS done, maybe kill 2 birds with one stone and make it worth the pita of dropping the pan.

I just went through this. I bought a new after market plug from Advanced Auto. I added a new copper washer and it started leaking. I thought it was the rear seal. I bought a factory plug and installed it last week. The leak is gone. Also note that the factory plug has a rubber seal on it and it does not use a washer.

When you have leaks from other areas it will work it way right to your plug. That is because the engine is on a slant, Check oil sending unit and oil filter assem and valve cover the oil will go right to you oil plug.
