Default Oil pressure

Well we changed the oil in my 00 i6 4.0 and the oil pressure has been about 60 the pad few days and last night and ever since then if I give it any gas it puts the oil pressure at 80 (max on the gauge)

We put in 6 quarts so there isn't too much oil an the dip stick is in the middle of add and full so idk what the problem is

Suggestions?

Check the connector to the oil pressure sending unit, located directly above the oil filter.

It is not unusual to "bump it" when you change the oil filter.

If after verifying connector the high oil pressure symptom continues, then replace the oil pressure sending unit. With a MOPAR unit purchased directly from Jeep. Well worth the money in reliability and accuracy.

And FWIW, oil pressure and oil level are not related in any way at all. That is, unless you run out of oil and your gauge reads 0.

Okay... I'm betting on a faulty sender.

No. You're gonna get a written description.

It's right above the oil filter and has wires going to it.
