EDIT: So I tested the sender and it's working properly. So maybe theres something bad somewhere in the wiring? I remember at some point about 8 years ago, the gauge was working and I haven't really messed with any wires on the jeep except for running brand new wires for the rear running lights and a new 12 volt wire for the radio. Otherwise there hasn't really been any other need to mess with the wiring. Also, I'm not sure if that diagram that was posted for testing is accurate for my jeep because I see it mentions the 2.5 motor and I have a 4.0

I didn't see notice a reply as it was an edit. It mentions the position of the sender on the 2.5 but straight after says where it is for the 4.0 I'm not sure what else so suggest other than what the diagram says to look at.
I tried everything in the diagram and the gauge still didn't work. I have a suspicion that the ribbon cabling on the cluster is going bad. For now, I just threw an aftermarket gauge in it and everything works with the new gauge
