Oil pressure sending unit?

Recently have been redoing a cherokee that has been sitting for about 3 years. Got the jeep running, the oil pressure gauge worked. Shut the jeep off, started it again and the oil gauge pegged to the right. I have read that the sending unit goes south a lot. 1990 bone stock 4.0

There's a good chance of that cruiser. I just changed the filter, I have been out of town and just not getting home. I'll check that ASAP.
