Confused
Ok so I'm not trying to revive an old thread, but I'm confused. I thought the oil pressure sending unit was the sensor right above the oil filter and looks like this... http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo....039&cc=1315943 (2 prong connection).
What and where is this "oil pressure switch" located that you guys talked about with 3 prongs?
I was searching around because my oil pressure has been reading low (down to 5 psi at idle), after I've been driving for about 20 or so minutes. Engine still runs just fine, no abnormal noises, coolant levels are consistent, and oils clean, nothing points me anywhere else other than the pressure sending unit. So I want to make sure I get the right part.

That oil pressure sending unit may work if you have a flat pin connector. If you have a round pin (bullet) connector you'll need part number 56031003.
Your '97 won't have an oil pressure switch. The instrument cluster microprocessor will turn on the CHECK GAUGES light if the indicated oil pressure gets too low.

Ahhhh, thanks CCKen! I was hoping you'd be the one to chime in, if anyone saw my post!
That was throwing me off. At least I know I'm not crazy now! Thanks again!
